A custom typeface developed at Whybin TBWA Auckland for Tourism New Zealand. The design team comprised of Philip Kelly design director, Karl Wixon design consultant, Kris Sowersby type designer and Rangi Kipa carver. The typeface design merges the traditions of wood type with the traditional indigenous carving style of Aotearoa (New Zealand) in a hand carved and printed font made of native timber. The typeface was also developed as a vector based open type font.
